Brand new Osmolator not working?? Help Please.

I just installed a brand new osmolator, and cannot get it to run. The probes operate properly showing low and high LEDs and warning sound with high water level. The pump does not seem to work. When I hook up the wires, nothing happens. I get the yellow Pump On light, and after a few minutes all LEDs show red. I have read the instructions and opened the unit to turn the potentiometer up, but nothing has changed. The pump spins if I connect the wires to a 9 volt battery. I am stumped as to a fix, or what part is defective. Please let me know if there is something I need to do, or if I need to send the unit in for service.
Thanks.

Such an issue can have many possible causes, the most likely being:

1) A weak power supply, one putting out less than 9V.

2) A source of electromagnetic interference affecting the controller. (The pump can be a cause, especially if the pump wire is near or bundled with the wire for the float switch).

I would try the osmolator away from the main tank, in a bathroom or the kitchen away from any electromagnetic fields, using just a sink with water or a bowl of water to test the optic sensor. If you have a voltmeter you could check the power supply output, it should be about 11V DC.

We can certainly get you a return label if you just email us a receipt and get it taken care of as soon as it arrived. But if it is just an electromagnetic field it will be a matter of repositioning things so the controller is away from ballasts, wireless controllers, etc and if it is just the power supply, we can just send one.

Thanks Roger for the prompt reply. I will try the options out tonight when I get home and let you know. The unit is near my apex systems so wires, or EMF might be the answer!!!
