Brass/zinc connections

I was going to use a connection on my new RO/DI from BRS. I was going to use a Y hose connection made of Brass and Zinc on the cold water of my washing machine. Would this have a bad result?

should be completely fine, my old spectrap urethane came with a brass adapter, no problems. Most of our waterlines are galvanized or copper anyway.

Brass is a metal alloy made of copper and zinc, I would not use it, even tiny amounts of copper leaching into your system can have devastating results

Wouldn't the RO membrane keep the copper from passing thru it? Most houses have copper plumbing? Even if you have pex tubing, there is copper at the end points.

As long as it's before the filter, it's fine. That water hits copper plumbing somewhere on the line.

OH! Well the fitting is before the RO/DI. Is this ok or should I just go get a plastic fitting. It just seemed the the plastic fitting was a bit.. I don't know...whimpy?

I would avoid the plastic fittings I have a few break on me, there is no downsides to using metal, go with the metal for sure.
