Hey all,
After a few months of debate, I've decided to break down/part out my FOWLR tank. I really wish I didn't have to do this, but I recently moved and really don't have the room or funding to keep the tank going.
Anyway, I have a few fish that I need to find new homes for. As they all will get quite big in adulthood, they shouldn't be housed in anything less than a 5 foot tank. I'll be happy to give them away at no charge if I feel they are going to a good home.
They are as follows:
1. 6.5" porcupine puffer (diodon holacanthus)
2. 6" pinktail triggerfish (melichtys vidua)
3. ~4.5" yellow tang (zebrasoma flavescens)
4. ~3.5" blue/hippo tang (paracanthurus hepatus)
Everything "wet" added to my tank has gone through 6 weeks of quarantine (all fish went through hyposalinity) so all of the above fish have 0% possibility of carrying anything like cryptocaryon/marine ich/velvet/flukes/etc into your tank like newly purchased fish usually do.
PM me if interested in any of them!
Thanks,
Julian
*** Individual fish info:
1. The porcupine puffer is an aggressive fish and is definitely not reef safe. He is quite the character, but unfortunately likes to "sample" anything big enough to fit his mouth around. He should not be housed with small fish or corals. My tank has many snails of various sizes that he occasionally eats, and a few larger hermits that he leaves alone. He would be a great addition to a big, "rough-and-tumble" aggressive tank with other big fish like triggers, eels, tangs, etc.
2. The pinktail trigger is definitely on the calm end as far as triggers go and would likely do okay in a reef system. Pinktail triggers are generally rated about the same as bluethroat triggers in terms of reef-compatibility.
3. The yellow tang is in optimal health and eats like a pig.
4. The blue tang eats like a pig. He had a fairly prominant case of HLLE on his face when I got him a few months ago, but it has been gradually getting better.
