Unfortunately this erroneous statement has been perpetuated for a long time. From the Artemia Reference Center at the University of Ghent, they published a section on artemia nutrition showing live adult brine shrimp raised from Great Salt Lake cysts, have protein levels approaching 60%.<a href=showthread.php?s=&postid=9475176#post9475176 target=_blank>Originally posted</a> by Travis L. Also, the nutritional value of Brine Shrimp is nearly worthless unless you gut load them before feeding.
