Breeding Brine Shimp & Banggai Cardinals

Hi all,
I have a query to do with breeding brine shrimp (particularly with the aim of using offspring for freeing banggai offspring)
Is it feasible to hatch them in the refuge and obtain a sustainable breeding pattern with brine shimp which can be used to feed?
If I was to put the newly released banggai offspring in the same refuge would the babies feed on the BBS? (to an extend they get enough protein to reach maturity)
thanks,
Jason

I can't answer the first part of your question, but I've had great success feeding newly released cardinalfish fry with BBS. I just use the frozen variety from my LFS. So yes, BBS are a good food choice.

I'd think it's a lot easier to just hatch prepared eggs... Breeding brine shrimp is probably not the easiest thing in the world.

Thanks for the reply :) My biggest concern is the cardinals feeding on the adult brine shrimp which lack the protein of BBS and can lead to sudden fright syndrome on the offspring. Also I have concern that when breeding the brine shrimp the eggs shells posing an issue if the baby fish consume them (assuming that they will have the same shell as bough shrimp eggs)

You can try hatching decapuslated brine shrimp. No eggsshells. Hatch in about 10 to 12 hours in 80 degree waterr.
