Breeding maroon clowns

Is there anything special I would need to know before I seal the deal and get a pair? Any reason why their harder to breed or should I just treat it like breeding any other pair of clowns?

Buying a breeding pair of fish doesn't always work If you plan to breed them. I have bought several proven breeding pairs and had them never lay again until I sold them over a year later. It usually takes at least 2 months for them to start laying again IF they lay again... and make sure you read alot, then laying eggs is the easy part, rotifers and keeping the fry alive is harder and more time consuming

Yes I've read a few threads about the difficulties of raising the fry, I'm planning on(assuming I get the pair) giving them a seperate tank and if they do start laying I will set everything up at that point or buy tanks cheaper to use over time

I have read that the maroons are much much more aggressive clownfish and so are the larvae. Even to the point where they fishy so much they kill off each other. It's hard enough to keep the new babies alive without worrying about them killing each other. If I were you I would start off with a different pair of less aggressive clowns and "get your feet wet" with them first and then come back to the maroons. Good Luck!
