My Clarkii are (as I type) laying their third nest.
They are on quite a regular and prolific schedule. Eggs hatch on the 8th night about 30-60 minutes after lights out. New nest is laid 2 days later 1.5 hours before lights out. I am shocked at how soon she is laying after the nest hatches. In fact, she starts cleaning behavior before the last nest has hatched but then lays again over the original nest. The current (3rd) nest is about 2-3 times the size of the first. I can post pics if anyone is interested.
Anyway. I am interested in raising this, or the next nest. I have a plethora of 2 litre bottles and a copy of "clownfishes." I'll need to get a 5-10 gal tank and a heater. I remember that someone here made a small rack for raising rotifers and greenwater but I can't find the thread. I also need any suggestions on getting the algae and rotifer cultures. I live in the SF Bay area so local is better than mail order but either will work.
TIA.
