breeding shrimp

i was thinking about setting up a 20 gallon tank with LS and a few pieces of LR a single PC bulb and sponge filters.
would this be a good breeding tank for cleaner shrimp? could i leave adult shrimp in the tank with the babys?

id like to try and sell coral and possiably shrimp online and to the lfs.

what should i feed the young shrimp once they come out of larval stage. and what do i feed them while there in larval stage ( if anything)0.

They have an 8 week larval stage. They require massive quantities of food, mainly live artemia nauplii and rotifers. The adults will eat the babies. Raising them is very difficult, only very few people have done it.

nauplii and rotifers would be to big for larve wouldent it? i was thinking more along the lines of greenwater for food.

Nope. I raised a few. Fed them crushed flake and artemia nauplii. They need a specialized tank because they can't hit the corners or they'll get injured. They're hunters right from the start.

i think ill start setting up the tank soon and let it finish cycling then give this a shot.. i know that the lr and ls probobly arnt a good idea but i would like to use it to help witht he stability of the water anyways. expect to hear more about this in a few months. or sooner if one of my shrimp is ever seen carrying eggs

from your last post it sounds like id need somthing like a bowl instead of a tank. they (hopfully) breed as easily as ghost shrimp( lol yeah right...) anyways. in my old FW planted tank i started iwht like 10 ghost shrimp and when the time came ot take down the tank i had a few hundred

Check out April Kirkendoll's book "How to Raise and Train Your Peppermint Shrimp". This will give you an idea of what are you in for. Add to that the knowledge that the Striped Cleaner Shrimp larvae are smaller, more delicate and weaker for the first few larval stages.
