Breeding stations

I never knew that. I've got two 10g aqueon and two from walmart. Anyway to tell? I remember having a 10g tank before that wasn't clear on the bottom. It had a weird texture. My current tanks are all clear on all 5 sides.

Aqueon is what used to be AGA before Central Garden and Pet took them over and rebranded the tanks. Their 10's are not tempered ;) Haven't seen 10's with textured bottoms, but I'd certainly be leery of drilling of one those.

Wow you really must like clowns !!!

- I suspect he does like clowns- but importantly when you breed fish you plan on selling- you must have a strong economic driver. Most breeders who raise clowns can sell clownfish- everyone loves clownfish. They support your breeding efforts in other species, and judging on the wonderful coloration of his fish - hes going to seel everything hes got

I would like to chime in and say to just make sure you understand the process needed forwards and backwards to successfully raise clownfish before jumping into this. Its hard to sell a few hundred clownfish to local fish stores even if you have 5 or so willing to do so. Clownfish on the lower end are ab e to produce hundreds of eggs per spawn with multiple spawns a month. Rkelman pics could be, and I believe they are, the product of one spawning pair. Just try to understand as much as you can and make sure you want to do this.

what kind of skimmer would put on a system like this?
One rated twice as much as the total system volume. A wet/dry filter can also be very beneficial on a fish breeding operation, as can fluidized bed filters. You're going to overload the system with nutrients on a regular basis.

rkelman,
By the looks of those fish filled tanks you would think you're breeding zebras! ;)

Yes it kind of does. It makes my brain hurt to look at them for long :)

I don't use a skimmer. I grow out in lower salinity so a skimmer doesn't work well anyways. I need to do more water changes but I also use 1/2 the salt so in the end I save money.
