I've had a dark reddish/brownish colored brittle star (these are the ones with spines on their arms, right?) for about 2 years now in my 20L reef.
I've not lost any fish or anything, he just keeps to himself and only comes out when the lights are off. I've been feeding him weekly which he loves (comes out of hiding and takes the food right off my hand!)
My question is, are those totally reef safe? I'm thinking of adding more corals. Also, will it try to eat my fish when it gets bigger? It's pretty big as it is, not sure how much bigger it can get (like I said, its at least 2 years old).
So, should I just leave it alone since it hasn't harmed anything so far? Or, be on the safe side and capture it and take it to the LFS for credit?
Any recommendations?
