Since the search function is not working, thought I'd post instead. Has anyone ever used a brick in the tank to raise a skimmer? Just wondering if it would be safe to use and not affect the water quality of the tank.
I think you would be fine with that as long as you cleaned it appropriately. In Vol. 1 of Delbeek's book he talks about a reef being buit out of Live Rock and Cement Blocks. I think they soaked them in a solution of some sort of acid. I will have to look it up in the book.
I am sure someone knows more than I but I think you would be fine with a Cement based block acording to that reference.
