wow, that's amazing! speaking of...that little birdsnest frag i got isn't looking so hot. i started it out on bottom of the tank, then moved him up about half way, and its starting to look pretty crispy. i just moved it back down a couple days ago...but i thought they needed a bunch of light? suggestions? also, that little speck of a frag i got from dave, some sort of acro...its growing, but is losing most of its purple...starting to look pretty brown. help?

Check your phosphate level... High phosphates and SPS don't mix... They brown out your corals and make them fade under intense lighting...

If it makes you feel better, when I switched ballasts in my 58g I about fried all my Acans... They're in recovery now...

Kim~ That took about 6 or 8 months I think... One of my friends gave it to me to see if I could nurse it back before he lost it...

Speaking of me and the Acro willisae? That coral likes a lot of flow and pretty intense lighting to maintain its color. Many corals I've received frags of, esp. acros, tend to lose their color while they adjust to a new tank.

Dave~ They look one and the same to me... How long have you had yours??? I thought I remembered you saying you had it before... Hope mine gets as big...

I'll be moving my Willisae up tomorrow... It hasn't lost its color, but it has barely encrusted...

sorry, dave, i meant the other dave. the willisae is doing great. its stayed pink and is growing pretty well. i was just thinking i wish i would have taken a pic at the beginning so i could see how much growth in the couple months. i was talking about a tiny tip of a frag that dave from CR gave me...i think he accidentally broke it off.
