Bristle worm in my derasa

Hi
I brought home this big derasa today and after the lights went out I saw a bristle worm crawl out of it. I don't know what species it is but I was able to trap it.
This is my first clam and I just wanted to be sure everything was cool with it.
Anyone heard of such a thing?

Maybe post a pic of the worm to make sure its just a normal bristle. Did it crawl out of a siphon hole, or from between the mantle/shell?

I'll see if I can get a pic posted. I threw it in the 'fuge and I'm sure I can trap it again if it turns out to be a pest. But I can tell you this, it was a lot longer and skinnier than I had imagined bristle worms to be. Maybe 3 1/2 to 4 inches long.

I couldn't tell exactly where it crawled out of. It was half way out of the end of the clam opposite the the siphon hole when I saw it.

Thanks for the reply!
Steve

Some tanks have lots of bristle worms and they can get everyhwere. Maybe one was crawling around under or on the clam when it was taken out of its former tank and somehow squirmed into the shell.
Or it could be a sign that the clam is on its way out (scavangers congregating on it). But I kind of doubt that. I wouldn't worry much about it. If the clam was that sick it would probably have died by now.
