Bristle Worm trap = Super Tongan Nassarius Snail Feeder!

I've never actually seen a Bristle Worm in my tank, but recently I had a huge Tree like soft coral (Kenya Tree?) that overnight went from full bloom dropping a branch/arm day after day to, looking like something ate it.

So I was at the pet store and saw a little bristle worm trap and thought, what the heck, lets see if we catch anything.

I put the 1 piece of freeze dried shrimp that came with the trap in the bait compartment and dropped it in the tank..

Within seconds I saw a Super Tongan Nassarius Snail come out of the rock work and head straight for the trap, I said "Ahh, he'll never be able to get to the bait inside the trap", But I watched, and sure enough that little turd streched it's snout out it had to be a good 1-1.5" and grabbed that piece of shrimp. Pulled it back threw the little hole in the trap and took it.

So much for that idea! Maybe I'll have to put a larger piece that wont fit threw the hole.

It's amazing what these creatures will go threw to get food!

the Nassarius snails are hilarious when there is food about.

last time i had my bristle worm trap in the tank i had two of them rolling around all over it, frantically trying to find a way in.

i also love when they climb up the glass, then decide about 3/4 of the way to the top that they're bored with climbing and just let go and dive bomb back to the sand.
