They look nothing like that. They are long and thin, and are a deep red. If they did not have a piece of mysis shrimp in their tentacles, it would be almost impossible to see.
bristleworms don't have tentacles....so....what on earth is in your tank?
As said, they clean out dead/dying creatures, so it's most likely that the clams were unhealthy to begin with before falling victim to the bristleworms.
I wish I new what they were. They look like feather duster worms. The red ones, but they are tiny and eat mysis shrimp. I have 3 tube nems, could they have possibly spawned?
