Bristle Worms?!

They look nothing like that. They are long and thin, and are a deep red. If they did not have a piece of mysis shrimp in their tentacles, it would be almost impossible to see.

bristleworms don't have tentacles....so....what on earth is in your tank?

As said, they clean out dead/dying creatures, so it's most likely that the clams were unhealthy to begin with before falling victim to the bristleworms.

I wish I new what they were. They look like feather duster worms. The red ones, but they are tiny and eat mysis shrimp. I have 3 tube nems, could they have possibly spawned?

As I said that is out of the sand when in the sand they look blood red . I bet that is what they are and maybe LeslieH will chime in. You should also post this in the other invert forum http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=427

My coral banded shrimp eats them, caught him several times with one in his pinchers.
