Bristle worms

I've got them.

Seems to be a common type with a black body and red head (or tail?)

They just appeared recently, at first at night now I have seen a couple with the lights on.

Is the consensus that these are good or bad?

Its amazing what you will find in a saltwater aquarium. I dont bother removing any worms. I can assure you that if you remove 1 worm there will be another 10 worms that you cant see.

bristtle worm or fire worms are good scanvengers of dead matter
in SW systems.......the only problem is, they reproduce very fast
to the point they get very annoying and can sting fish or even aquarist....So if you have them is ok ,but when cleaning your tank
watchout for their sting........and if they get large try to pick them out .

Okay, tonight I am seeing something else.

Worms coming out of the rock. Some are milky white/clearish but one end is brown with a light brown band.

Another rock as tentacle looking things coming out and probing the sand. It looks worm-like but it has a tapered end. Sort of brown with darker brown bands. I'd almost guess starfish but it's so crammed in a tiny space that unless he grew up in there it would be impossible.

None of them are flat or ribbony.. and these don't have any bristles and don't really look segmented.

there are hundreds of possibilities for what you're seeing, and most of them harmless. without pics, it's rather difficult to give an identification. any chance you could attempt some photography of the critters?

No, I don't have a camera, just a cell phone camera and they just show up as a blur.

My mom is coming in town this weekend, I'll ask her to bring hers.. she has a nice one.
