Brittle star getting loose

My brittle star quarter size is continually trying to get
Over the filter section of sump into the skimmer and pump side can't watch him all night is he sick or something ?

There is probably some environmental condition that is attracting it. More flow, good hiding place, cooler or warmer temp, less light, better food?

Why do you keep it in the sump and not the DT?
