I don't know either but the one that I've heard is the problem are the green ones. I've got dozens of the little ones in my tank. I'm not going to put anything in my tank that has the ability to eat my fish.

I have large serpent and brittle stars in all 3 reef tanks. A few are 50% bigger than your's and they have never been a problem at all.

Iv heard they eat small fishes like neon gobbies, thts true? currently i have 2 oc clowns, im gona add yellow watchman goby and purple fire goby this week, and later a few neon gobbies and a lawn mower blenny. Will also add skunk cleaner, urchins, peleamon shrimp and few more snails.

The green ones are highly predatory. The others are harmless to fish unless starving, so feed it a chunk of something meaty (shrimp is good) now and then and you'll be fine.
Also, scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp are highly aggressive towards other shrimp and may kill smaller ones.

Wow.. awsm pics...

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Looks amazing.

Thanks. It's finding critters like these, in shallow water right off the beach while snorkeling that make the Florida Keys a place we visit about 4 or 5 long weekends a year. Lucky for us that it's only a 5 hour drive!

There is a thread all about some of us locals and visitors to the Keys and our adventures snorkeling here:

Im from india though, but my sis stays at south carolina, gona visit her next year.. will try going there..

If you are coming for more than a short stay it would be a worth while side trip over 4 or 5 days. A day to drive down a couple days in the Keys and a day to drive back. Have you done any snorkeling anywhere before?

The Maldives are on my bucket list along with the Great Barrier Reef. I'll have to check out Lakshadweep Islands. I've never heard of them. Thanks for the lead.

Thanks. It will be a couple of years until my wife retires so we can make it a BIG trip. And allow me to return the hospitality. When you visit your sister in NC, and you decide you want to try a snorkel in the Florida Keys, let me know. I'll meet you there and would enjoy showing you around.
