brittle star reproducing?

I have these tentalcles that come out of one of my rocks at night (and sometimes for a little while during the day) that look like brittle star tentacles. I just got a better look and it appears that they are connected. Could my brittle star have reproduced? Or is this some type of nuiscance worm or something? They are pretty long and skinny and look just like the brittle star. Sorry for the lame description, but i cant get a pic.

i have seen a bristle worm and it doesnt look like one. really skinny and long. do bristle worms hang out in groups?

I have hundreds of mini brittle stars all over my rockwork. They probably came in as hitchhikers. Just free clean up crew.

i also have a bunch of little stars (1/4"), but this thing is at least 3 to 4" from tip to tip of the tentacles. are your "mini" stars that big?

I can tell you this. I bought a large brittle star about 5 years ago and had it in a 125 for about 6 months or so maybe longer. Oh yea thay can reproduce. Like mad. I ended up buying a 2 long to keep about 20 of them in. Every morning it seemed like I would find 2-3 more. After about a week I gave up and let them fend for themselves. Tried to do the right thing in saving them and most lived and I gave them away. Also I have a serpant star and I know this for a fact. One came with a large CUC that I purchased from Marine Depot wasn't to crazy about him but hey they only help right. Well I now have 3 and they are all about the same size. I can assure you I didn't really want the one I got but I sure haven't bought anymore. It's possible.
