The only thing i can say is they will breed themselves into death. They will only get to the point that they can sustain life.they wont over take your tank. so dont worry about them. Look at is a free life that helps maintain your tanks health. My 6line eats them. Its awsome. I have had a bloom and a half of them. but the 6 line is taking care of that problem.
The odd thing is no matter how many he eats there is 20 more sitting there. I have a good hundred or more. i look in there and every few inches there are like 7. I see it as free easy food.

The big brittle stars are nasty. I had a medium green brittle in FOWLR back in the day. It began eating fish at an alarming rate. I had to take it back to the LFS before it was the only living tank inhabitant.
