Brittle Worms

The key to bristleworm control is food put into the system and how much of that food is not eaten by fish. If you cut down on amount of food you feed the tank the amount of bristleworm population should also go down.

From my point of view the only bad thing about bristleworms is that sometimes they can get very big and affect other tank mates. If it actually came to this you could buy or use a bristleworm trap for the big ones.

I've had a tank with 4 that were 10" and hundreds of smaller ones, and never a bit of trouble from the worms. They keep dicing up the available detritus until corals and shrooms can swallow it.
