Hey guys, I just broke off excess frogspawn skeleton so I can get the coral to stay in place better, IMMEDITATELY after I broke it.. Actually it seems as I broke it the tentacles deflated. It is 2 headed seems to be splitting to three and was fine! I think itll be fine, but why did it do this? I found it odd that immediately after I broke the skeleton it did this. It still has a good 2-3" of skeleton before it is tissue. Any insight? Thanks!

PS: Readings are fine.Everything 0 Calcium is 400!

It is already looking better. I wonder what makes it do that? Well glad to hear yours is ok! Hope mine is as well. Seems like it should!

Normal... I would not worry at all.

BTW, do you guys spot/target feed your frogspawn? If yes, what do you feed with?

i spot feed krill or mysis just place near the mouth.. i noticed when i first started to try to spot feed they didnt want to eat, then after trying a couple of times they started to take the food. also have good growth rates while spot feeding.. oh yeah they took scallops too..

It's a good idea to completely deflate your Euphyllia before you snap a branch off. The violent snapping action can cause damage to an open head. I've even seen them loose polyps when snapped while open. It's a lot less trauma for the coral when it's closed up. But I'm sure it will be fine. It's just best to be cautious.
