broke the heads off my favorite frogspawn :-(

I was aquascaping this morning, and when I tried to pull my favorite frogspawn off the rock I broke BOTH heads off of it!!

I have them stuck in seperate parts of liverock now, but what are the chances of them recovering if I leave them alone? Is it a lost cause?

Both have about a third to a half inch of skeleton, and the heads are about a half inch across when deflated. "Square" sort of...

It's replacable, it's not rare or anything, but it was still my favorite colorform in the tank! Looked kind of like a green BTA.

:sad1:

If you broke it below the polyp, you should be perfectly fine. Their skeletons are really brittle and some people frag them by breaking off the branches with their hands. Not recommending that just saying it happens.

I rescaped a bit yesterday too and in the process sent a rock tumbling that broke my millepora into two pieces. Glued them back down and this morning all polyps are out on both pieces. It really is amazing how much abuse our corals can take some time.

This one seems to be making a valiant effort to expand...

This one...not so much...

They look fine to me. The first pic shows plenty of skeleton/branch left. They're gonna be a little PO'd for a while (wouldn't you be :)) but I think you will see them fully open within the next 24 hours.

The top one is definitely looking more cheerful a few hours later. Looks like it could pull through. The second, smaller one hasnt changed. If I can keep the one, at least, that'll be good rather than a complete loss.
