Broken 6055

I was cleaning my 6055 pump yesterday and when I put it back in the tank it wouldn't work. The red light on the controller would light for a second and then go back out. So I unhooked the controller and just plugged the pump in and nothing. After I had it out and dried off I noticed the wire that connects to the base of the pump cracked and you can see the 3 wires inside. I'm not sure If it crack after I took it out or before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the motor block will need replaced. Roger is in Germany until May 24th but as soon as he gets back he will get you squared away. Do you know how old the pump is? Warranty is two years from date of purchase or from build date without reciept

I just found my receipt and its from Aug 07. So its been over two yrs. Hopefully its still repairable and I don't have to buy a new pump. Thanks

The block wont be repairable, I have seeen that questtion asked in the past occasionally and the Roger's response has been sooner or later even the best repair will let water in and wick down the cord. you can buy just the motor on tunze.com or possibly from other vendors. While still a bit of money it is about 100 dollars cheaper than a new pump. Part number is 6055.100, the only thing you may need other than that is a disk for behind the impeller.

Please send it in with the receipt and I will take care of it as soon as I return, I will discount a replacement motor worst case scenario, I want to see if I can determine the cause of this problem as it shouldn't happen. I do have an employee receiving repairs and I will handle them in the order they came in when I return.
