I am thinking about replacing the top trim and braces. I am unable to find a replacement for the trim/brace, so I would like to go with the euro bracing. Should I go with glass or arylic? Has anyone replaced their trim and what is the best and easiest.
I have a 180 gal (standard) AGA tank.

thanks

You can call AGA and get a part number and have your local distributor call for a replacement rim, or you can go to petswarehouse.com (not to be confused with petwarehouse.com which is F&S) and call them. They list the rims up to 24"x48" but can order the 180 rim for you. They are located in Copiague, New York.

If you go the eurobracing then go with the material that your tank is made of. Acrylic does not bond well with glass. If you were to do a proper eurobrace i dont see why it would not hold as if it was there the day the tank was manufactured.

And i would use the AGA aquarium silcone. The GE stuff is good for a fuge but i would not use it for a main support system.
