Hi everyone!
I'm setting up my first reef tank, and it's almost cycled and ready for life. My live rock was cured in a bucked with RO water before setting up the main tank for approximately six weeks. It was completely white when I first put it in the tank, and now it's starting to become covered in brown (algae?). I'm also noticing a tube-like growth coming out of one of the pieces. I've attached pictures, so hopefully they upload
I'm just wondering if I've done something wrong, or if the algae is part of the cycling process. Also wondering what kind of hitchhiker the growth is and if it's going to be harmful or a pest in the long run. Any advise would be much appreciated as I'm still learning and very new to this awesome hobby!
Thanks,
Nick
