Brown Algae

so I am having my first large brown algae bloom. It is everywhere. I have 10 rather large snails moving around on my 60 lbs. of LR, do you think I should add more snails? Or can I get something like an blenny to take care of it?

How big of a tank? I have 100 snails in my 150 gallon. Most snails are diatom grazers.

we have 25 very large turbo snails and a blue tuxedo urchin. The brown algea is going away...her are our current levels...tell us what you think>


0 nitrites, 10 nitrates, .5 ammonia, .trace of phosphate, and ph is up to 8.4..

Nitrates arent that big of a big deal, but you need to find out why you have ammonia showing up.

How long has the tank been set up? If it hasnt cycled yet then diatom blooms are a normal phase in new tanks. It should go away on its own with proper husbandry.
