Brown Button Polyps- White Bacterial Mat?

Hello,

I have recently added a group of brown button polyps to my reef tank. Over the last few days, what I believe to be a bacterial mat is forming around the base of one or two of the polyps. It looks like a gelatinous white cloud.

What would you advise? Should I remove those polyps, try to scrape off the jelly???

Those pictures are way too blurry to make out a blessed thing. Try shutting off the flow and using a tripod. Sorry, but I simply can't help you without clearer pics.

You can see the two affected polyps, one at the center of the image and one above it.

That picture is much better, but it's still tough to tell. Is it possible we're just seeing new "buds" forming on the mat?

looks like a white sponge growth to me
