brown hammer is sick

I just bought a brown hammer from my lfs. It appears to have some of the tissue receeding from its skeleton, and the polyps are small and not extending past the skeleton much.

Is there anything I can do to help it get back on the road to recovery, or is it fine and I'm just being paranoid.

Well, it's far from being fine... The best you can do for it is keep it under moderate light and low flow. An iodine dip might help. Feed it if you can but it sounds like it might be a goner...

I always use tankwater for iodine dips. The iodine (Lugol's) should have the dip dosage on the bottle.

Hammer, Torch, & Frog spawn can all fully retract into the skeleton and it looks like tissue recession to someone who doesn't know. It sounds like they are in shock to their new home.
How long has it been in your tank?
Can you post a pic first before treating for anything?
