my tank is reaching 15 months and as it remains successful in growth, color, life, etc.... im having one significant problem, brown algae, detritus, or diatom on the thick 1-2mm sandbed....
some quick notes...
radion at 60% (mostly 18-20k)
tunze skimmer
mp10
chemipure elite and phosban
nitrates around .2-.5
phosphates last tested at .06
i vacuum the gravel weekly on WC day....
had lots of hair algae and fuzz throughout the tank such as liverock and the return, due to shortage of CuC, a few snails did quick work of that...
let me know what other info may help in solving this puzzle.....
