Brown T.Crocea

My LFS has a couple of T. Crocea that have been there for months and the color is browning. Will the color come back with better tank and light conditions? Sorry I am a Noob to clams. They are being kept under 250watt 14k but are very far down in the tank from the light, apporx 30" and to the side so they don't get good lighting. I would be keeping them under 150 watt HQI 10k only 10-15" directly under the light. I am hoping to get a better price cause of the browning but need to know that color comes back with proper care.

Second question does any of these damage clams: Blue tang, Coral Beauty, Leopard Wrasse, Lawnmower Blenny, Yellow watchman Goby, Perc Clown, Cleaner Shrimp, Emerald Crab, Red leg hermit?:artist:

the color will come bak if kept under strong lighting, the brown coloration is a sign that they are not getting enoug light, try to get them at a discounted price now that the color is gone.

Julio is correct. But to answer your second question, coral beautys are bad news for clams. You would most likely need to pick between the CB, or clams.

Coral Beauty no good for clams:mixed: bummer. I really like my CB. He doesn't pick at any of my corals. I guess I don't wanna get rid of him. Thanks for info. I'll get clams someday.

Stinker, huh? They are beautiful, though!

At best, they are a 50/50 shot at being clam killers. In my experience knowing other's who have tried, and reading on here, the number is higher.

My experience has been that others experience are usually the same if I try to duplicate. Not sure if that came out right, but I'll just have to skip on the Clams till CB passes of old age.
