Brown web like stuff on some corals?

Can someone tell me what this stuff is and how to kill it?

cyano! cyanobacteria. more flow. It's also digesting the dieing tissues of the coral as it breaks down into ammonia. Is that coral new, or have you had a big swing in something in your tank?

Thanks, about 2 or 3 weeks ago I had an increace in PO4 to .5ppm. I got it down to .1 and it has been at that level since. I will add another powerhead soon. I notice it more on the new corals, but the above picture is of a coral I had since Nov 2006.

LPS problem too.

LPS problem too.

I also noticed that one of my first LPS (1.5 years) has not openned in 2 weeks. I measure the basic water parameters and all are zero.

:( sometimes stuff like that just happens... It really sucks. It could be something that was overlooked... maybe check copper levels? Any change in topoff water? salinity? water source? Sorry to hear that your corals arn't doing well.

When I first set up my 120, I bought a beautiful little frag of birdsnest, and it was enveloped in cyano in 3 days. For whatever reason it just died, just like that, even though the parameters were fine and other corals were just fine. In fact, my frogspawn died as well, just shrunk and then disappeared to nothing. The only thing that has survived from the tank's early days (first month) is a Kenya tree coral that I had shipped to me USPS in a little package with only a tiny bit of water. It's huge to this day, but unfortunately it's the only original one.

OK, am I the only one who's going to say "Don't get your water from Big Al's"? Have you seen their coral tanks?
