Somebody awesome gave me a bio pellet reactor but I wanted to use it for GFO. I'm not certain if I can since I can't find the difference between the two on the BRS website. Can someone chime in to help?

Wich one? As long as u can turn it down so the gfo doesnt tumble like crazy...just the top of the gfo is suppose to move around gently so the gfo doesnt turn into a block...and if its too fAst it will break apart...as long as u can tune it cant see why not

I purchased the BRS carbon/GFO reactor and ran it for a little while before switching it over to bio pellets. From what I can tell, there is no difference. I just modified mine my snapping out a few of the bars above and below the reaction chamber to reduce how quickly the slots become clogged.

You can download the 150's instruction sheet from the 150 product listing on Marine Depot's site.

If properly set up for bio pellets, it will have 2 white plastic screens inside - those need to come out for GFO use. You will replace those with 2 circular sponges. I'd you don't have them they can be purchased for a few dollars.

You need a small low flow pump with an flow rate recommended in the instruction sheet, like a Marineland 404 or 606. You should use the little ball valve to control flow. Other than that all you need is soft tubing & you're in business.
