BRS carbon reactor tumbling issues

Hello all. So Ive been using the brs deluxe reactor for a little while and it worked great for Matrix carbon. I recently switched to brs rox carbon and the stuff just floats because its so light and pourous? Its a good thing I know. But no matter how I pack the stuff there always seems to be a pocket that doesnt get packed and starts tumbling. Anyone have any ideas how to keep carbon packed tight? I was thinking a section of pvc on bottom or top to help at least the foam stay in place but there always seems to be an air bubble or something that just keeps it from staying packed together and once a small pocket forms it starts getting bigger and bigger. Any advice is welcome thanks.

brs sells sponges to wedge the carbon to either the top or the bottom of the reactor. They sell two types, call them to see what size fits your reactor.....

I been using the sponges that came with the reactor. Ill check them out to see iff they offer a different type. Might try multiple sponges

I have their reactor with the inner shell. I have gfo tumbling at the bottom and rox wedged at the top. At the very top is a sponge then the rox then another sponge. rox is between sponges (you can't see the sponge at the top in the picture but it's there).

For carbon only, the easiest solution is to reverse the flow so that the carbon is pushed down.

I use Rox. In my reactor its a GEO bottom to top flow. I have sponge on bottom and one on top. Half the stuff goes to the top and half stays on the bottom. There is a gap between the layers. Why? I have no clue. It does not tumble so its all good. Using a spacer of some sorts would work in your and my case . PVC pipe or extra sponges to fill the gap.
