bta and nitrates?

I'm a little confused on this issue. I have read differing opinions. What is the deal with this? Are high nitrates very detrimental to bta's? Cheers

I could never keep an anemone, bta or others, alive for any length of time until I got my nitrate real low. Since then I haven't had any issues.

If it's Fish Only, 20 or 30 PPM may be acceptable. If it's reef (anenomes or LPS/SPS), anything over 5 PPM is pushing it (IMO). The lower the better.

I have gotten better growth from anemones when some (~5ppm) nitrates have been in the water. I wouldn't try to go above that though.

ive had a bta in 20ish nitrates for over a year, i wouldnt suggest that. ive been battling nitrates through water changes and media, and i couldnt bring it down until i got chaetomorpha in the back of my solona. Now its 0 :)

+1 on the Cheato. I couldn't get mine under 5 PPM until I put some in as well. Macroalgae does wonders soaking up nitrates.
