My BTA must have been sucked into one of my power heads and got shredded.
It happened yesterday night, just when I had my skimmer turned off because I dosed the tank with live zooxanthellae as an attempt to recolor my bleached crispa.
Yesterday morning I found the tank looking murky as if someone poured some milk into it. At that point I attributed this to the turned of skimmer. Since the fish and corals didn't look distressed, I just turned the skimmer back on and went to work.
When I came home in the evening the water was clear and everything seemed OK but I saw a whitish piece of meat laying on a rock. At first I feared one of my fish had died but they were all still there. After taking it out it became clear that it was my BTA that must have gone on a trip and ended in one of the power heads. Tow more pieces were still hanging
Now, besides the loss of the anemone it went ok this time, but I'm afraid of this happening again and things not going so well.
How can you prevent anemones (or other small animals like for example pipefish) from being sucked in?
