BTA hasn't eaten???

Here it is today. It really does look a lot better than the pics. It's about 4' from the end of the tank so its hard to get a good shot.

Your BTA is becoming more bleached than it was in your first pics. They should not be translucent as the tentacles on yours are becomming. You need more light. While I agree with others that they do not always appreciate the most intense light, your light is very weak for this animal. If you do not get better light, the long term health of that nen is questionable. In the mean time, keep feeding it, as its likely the only reason it hasn't perished already.

I have to disagree with you. These pics are from my camera and the other from my phone. The bta has actually gained some color. I think the difference is just in the pictures. And lighting is debatable. The guy I bought my tank from still had it up and running when I looked at it. He had a huge bta that was in there for 5 years with no problems. So I guess time will tell.

Remember, the guy you bought it from was trying to sell you something. I always take advice from those I purchase from with a grain of salt. I know that BTA's can survive under that low of light, but it will be unlikely to thrive. If you are stating that the newer pictures are better, then I am more concerned. Google images of bubble tip anemones. You will see very vibrant colors. Some will still be pinkish/purple also, but very few will be translucent such as yours is. That translucency is associated with improper lighting conditions for long term health.

You are making my point. It isn't translucent. It has a very good pinkish/brown color. The tips of the tents are greenish. I think the camera just makes it look that way. As far as the guy who sold it to me, I think it would be hard to fake a large nem with a large tomato clown hosting it. I haven't seen one that large in any store for sale. I'm not trying to argue with your point, but I think I will have to wait and see.
