how could i separate them?

how about seperate the anemone from the tomato. Get a piece of acrlyic or glass panel and put the anemone on one side of the tank and divide the tank up. Why waste a fish?

My above post.

55semireef suggested in an earlier comment to separate your tank with a piece of plexiglass. That would be ideal, although not knowing if the set up of your tank, it might also be impossible.
If you can't physically separate the tank in two, you could isolate the BTA by putting a small basket over it that would still allow the water to flow through it, but would keep the tomato away from it. I'm thinking like a basket from the center of a lettuce spinner or a strawberry basket from the supermarket depending on the size of your anemone. If you go the basket route you will want to make sure that the basket is securely anchored because your tomato will most likely try to remove the basket from it's home.
If your anemone is anchored to a small rock you could also pick up one of those plexiglass breeder separators that they sell for livebearing fish. You don't want to try to uproot your nem at this point because it's already stressed enough, so if the rock and nem won't fit in the breeder, scratch that idea.

Be prepared for the tomato to be royally ****ed off whatever you do.

I bought a plastic shamppoo holder from target. its see thru. has holes punched all thru it, and has 2 suction cups. I used to put it over my bta when my maroon started to kill it.. (its much larger now and healthy)

i dont see how i could put something ovr it that would be secure and still akllow flow

If you get one of those strawberry holders from your local grocery store you can tie a couple of small rocks to the sides to work as weights and that should be enough to keep your tomato from getting to it.

Thats a great idea.

im starting to think that the problem cant be the clown because when the lights go off he gets big(not his tentacles though) and the clown is all in it. once the lights go on though the anemone slowly starts to not look good at all.. its eating and water conditions are fine.. the only thing that could happen is its just sick or somethin

Well the clown is not as active at night when he's in the anemone as he is in the day. Go with our advice. Quarantine the anemone away from the clown. Make sure it gets good light, its well fed nutritionally and its getting good flow. Than hope for the best.

im soo confused....... o wellll ill just hope for the best! thanx alot for all your information!!!!

I don't see what there is to be confused about. Every question of yours has been explained in a rather stright forward way.

Your anemone has not been getting adequate nutrition.
Feed him better.

Your anenome started off bleached and in bad shape.
Nothing you can do about that.

Your anemone is too small for the tomato that is hosting in it.
Separate the two of them.

Of course your anemone is going to look better after lights out. Your tomato is resting and not harrassing it.

All good advice. Your anemone is bleached, he needs a lot of good light and good food. If your bulbs are old, I suggest replacing them. Give him plenty of silversides (small portions often). And get that clown away from him. If you can't seperate them, find someone who can take him off your hands for a while, it may take a few months for him to recover.

ok....thanks for being soo nice.. its been eating fine.. the LFS are not ur average LFS employeees and know more than anyone ive ever talked too soo they wouldnt seell me a bad speciemen........and for the first month the tomato and the anemone loved each other.... thats why i am confused

ive had it for about a month

Ok well obviously your employees have been pulling some sales techmiques on you bc that GBTA is really bleached. They should of known better. Thats like translucent.

Take the advice we gave you.

once i take the clown out if the anemone starts to get better.......if i put him back in wont the same problem happen again

We're not saying to take the clown out, we're just saying to separate him from the anemone and give it a couple of months to get healthy and grow larger for him to host in.
If I were to take anything out, it would be the anemone because at this point, judging by your pictures and description your clown is nice and healthy and your anemone isn't. If you get rid of the clown you're likely to lose the anemone anyways.
