BTA help save this specimen.

I need help saving this BTA. He was a healthy specimen when placed into tank. Kept hiding from us, so we just left him alone. When we lost a pair of Percs to disease we suspected he had died and slimed the percs. We removed the rock he was in and we thought he was dead. He had no tentacles and was loose and jelly like. Placed him in a bucket of salt water with the intent of disposing of him, but he wasn't dead. Can some one help with treatments. He looks a little better now in a Q/T tank.

Proper treatment should include VERY clean and stable water. This is very hard to do in a new tank, especially a small QT. If you can do regular frequent water changes that would help. Also, it will need bright lighting in the 10,000K range, and feeding it thawed mysis a couple times a week is recommended too.

I would like to suggest that you post some info about your tank, like the parameters and lighting. Maybe someone can tell you why it never settled in.

Sorry for not displaying enough information for help. I have a 20 Gal. Q/T tank that is 2' x 3' x 6". The lighting is with a 36" T5 quad. w/156w and 2x10000k. Filtration for this tank is with hang on back filters x 2. Tank is approx. 3 mos. Thanks for all your advice bradleym and m758b033.

3 month old tank and you go get an bta... Sigh another beautifull creature bites the dust.

CocaColaza if you read the information the 3 mo. old tank is a Q/T tank. The original tank from whence it came is a 46 gal. bow-front which is over a year old.

With a 6" deep tank you will need to be careful not to expose it to to much light. Probably get away with a duel strip. Biggest thing is to maintain water quality. I have had several BTAs that would bleach out and lose their tentacles after a month in my thank then recover and be fine. Hopefully the same will happen with this guy. Anemone doesn't actually look to bad in the picture. Old pic?
