I have been battling with my new BTA for 2 weeks now. I put him in the tank and he immediately retreated to a cave in a dark area. He stayed there for 4 days just shriveled up. I thought that was excessive.
I eventually turned the rock to have it in the light. It thrived and looked great, like it did in the LFS. Than a few hours later back in the cave. I repeated this again and again because it looked awful. Same thing. He got huge looked great, even ate, then 2 days later back in the cave but this time his face was buried against a rock.
Tried this one more time as it was really small yesterday and the tentacles were barely visible. He thrived but this morning back to a dark area.
I am using US Current Orbit IC LED Lights. They are on the weaker end but have been doing fine for my other coral in the tank.
I currently have Blues set to 50% Whites 10% Green 5% and Red 5%. I have changed these a few times because I thought the light was the issue.
Do I just need to leave it alone for a while and let it figure things out? Or is this thing dying?
