I have a BTA and also 2 peppermint shrimps in my 50 gallon tank. Today i noticed the shrimp trying to tear the skin of the anenome to eat. Have anyone experienced this problem?

I've heard of this being a problem before. I haven't had peppermint shrimp personally, so I haven't witnessed it myself.

I had issues w/my peppermints just a couple days ago. I noticed they kept lingering and picking at my BTAs mouth right after he finished eating, as if trying to the undigested food. Even if it didn't appear to be REALLY being harrassed that much, a rose anemone is worth wayyyyy more to me than a stupid 7 dollar shrimp, so I caught all three of them and tossed them into my sump! Not taking any chances of stress!

Hello,
I know this is not about the elegance but I had 2 peppermint shrimps that devoured a gorgeous elegance coral about 2 months ago. Needless to say they were trapped and taken back to the store.

I have 3 peppermints with 8 btas,no problems here. I always give them a little piece of silverside before feeding my anemones. They will take food away from the anemones.

I had an issue with my peppermint attacking my BTA. It would walk up to it at night and snip a tentacle off and crawl back into the rock work. It took a long time of me wondering why my BTA was shriveled up before I found the cause.

I ended up picking up a Maroon clown pair and the shrimp never got close again and the BTA regained it's size and color.

I have 3 peppermints and my RBTA is fine. But I do have an anenome crab that defends her like no other. Even attacks me when my hand is near the anenome.
