BTA mouth wide open

Have only had this anemone for only a week, he seems to be doing well put his mouth is wide open I just feed him last night. Good color, not expanded out all the way but he still looks good just mouth open. Is this a problem? The lights have not come on yet today so it is still kind of dark, just moonlights on. A wide open mouth isn't a good sign.

What are your water parameters (( with numbers ))

What size tank, and what lights do you have?

he seems to be doing better now. Parameters were good 2 days ago don't have time test right now but just did a water change yesterday. Got to go will checks parameters tonight. Thanks Tom

My parameters are KH/dKH-9.6, Alk-3.43, Calcium-450, Mag-1200, Salinity-1.26, Ammonia-.25, Nitrite-0.0, Nitrate-5.0, PH-8.2, and my temperature 81. The tank is a 125gallon, 40 gallon sump, 100lbs of live rock, 3 to 4 inch sand bed, Octopus skimmer. The lighting 2 36" Coralife Aqualight Pro with 150MH,and 2-65actinic power compact, with 2 moonlights on each run for 6 hours a day, with the power compacts on an hour before and hour after, moonlights on all the time. I know the temp is a little high getting a small fan tomorrow, and the ammonia I don't know never had that before. Have not added any new fish just a few corals yesterday. Thanks Tom

I am assuming that you left off a "0" for your salinity. The temp is fine.

I would do a water change or two to help bring down the ammonia, which could be the cause of your issues.

Yes did drop a "0" Salinity-1.026 and the Ammonia is down to zero. Just feed it krill last night seems to be doing fine. Thanks Tom

it was pooping maybe? if his mouth is always open than thats bad.

how long have u had your tank up and running? that could be why the anemone mouth is open.

The tank has been running for only 3 months. But 200lbs of live sand and 150 lbs of live rock.
