Bta not holding!?! PLEASE HELP

I just bought a bta and when i put him in to my tank he balled up and tenticals are only showing a little and he is not holding onto anything just floating around the tank. PLEASE HELP

im sure people will want to know your water parameters first.
id turn off any power head or anything like that that he could get sucked into. if you just put him in there it still might need to acclimate. see what a little time will do. he might settle down temporally and start to wander till a suitable place is found. ive heard of putting their foot in a pvc tube...

I turned off all the pumps and he floated to the top.
