I bought a BTA about 3 weeks ago, and after a day or two it had settled onto a rock and stayed in place for a couple of weeks. During that time I got an LTA that didn't want to attach so I kept digging holes in the gravel and trying to put it in the holes (didn't work but that's another story). Because of the holes in the gravel, the live rock structure started to collapse into the holes. So I filled in the holes and yesterday I shifted the live rock as close to it's original position as I could. The only rock that I didn't have to shift was the one the BTA had attached to, but apparently he didn't like all the fuss and has been on the move ever since. It seems to be staying mostly in dark parts of the tank, and the last time I could see it, it was hanging upside down from one of the rocks on the opposite side of the tank from where it started.
I'm new to anemones, so I'm not sure how much they move around normally. I'm assuming that he doesn't like something about how the live rock structure changed, so I'm hoping he settles down somewhere soon. Since he's sticking mostly to areas behind the rocks, I can't reach him to feed him. Will he come back out from behind the rocks when he gets really hungry, or do I need to try to figure out how to get food back there?
