BTA question

Picked up this RBTA from WWC a month ago or so...

Now I know that sometimes they lose their bubbles, they come and go, etc. It doesn't appear to be shrinking, doesn't appear to be growing eitherthough.

It's eating, it gets mysis and chunks of reef frenzy. The spot it's in is one it moved to within a day of going in the tank and it hasn't moved even an inch.

Once a day it closes up (typically late evening) and it opens again in the morning.

Parameters are all stable. Temp consistently sits right around 78, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, nitrates sit around 10ppm, 1.025 sg, calc hovers around 450, mag around 1300, alk sits around 9.

All of my coral are doing great and growing like crazy.

Light is a Maxspect razor x 100w. Tank is a 60 cube. Nem is 3-4" off the substrate facing away from the light, it's sitting about 2 ft under the light.

Channel A - Roayl Blue & Cool White

Channel B - Royal Blue & Light Blue

Channel C - Deep Blue & Violet

Channel D - Deep Red, Cyan, & Warm White

Channel A and C ramp up to 100%, Channel B goes up to 75% and Channel D goes up to 20%. Schedule runs at max for about 8 hours, ramp up and down 2hrs on each end.

Could it possibly be not enough light? Maybe need a different lighting schedule?

I've attached some pics...before and a couple afters with different lighting. Bubbles were right after it went in, other two are yesterday.

I posted over on R2R as well, but looking for more opinions.

If it were unhappy or not receiving enough light it would move about the tank or move up higher. If it isn't moving like you said it should be happy for now. A month is a short duration for a nem so it may still move. As for it growing I wouldn't worry it's only been in there a month or so.

How old is the tank? What other corals do you have? You mentioned everything else is growing like crazy but didn't say what. A nem is comparable to acros in terms of light requirement. If you had acros growing like crazy under that light versus say zoa's or soft corals it would be easier to say yes your lighting is adequate.

3 different hammers, frogspawn, octo, torch, Duncan, multiple zoas, two separate candy canes, large blasto colony, 3 different favia, a galaxea, birds nest and an acan lord. Even the other BTA is turning around from the sorry state it was in at the LFS.

Literally everything is showing growth and/or new heads/polyps. Some pieces are newer, some older. Tank has been up and running for about 6 months.

Don't judge by size alone, it may be getting plenty of light and just not expanding surface area like it could if otherwise.

I agree, a month is nothing, just keep doing what you are doing.
Just staying put and attached is a good sign usually.

Yup I wouldn't worry at all then, if everything keeps going well eventually you'll wish it would stop growing. Even most corals take a month or more to settle in and start growing, nems as you know are much more sensitive then corals so relax and enjoy the new addition.
