So I have gathered from a little reading that there many types of bubble tips, is that why eveyones pictures of thier "BTA" always look really different? Some grow quite large right? While others stay much more compact and reproduce more? And why do some peoples "BTA" not have bubble tips at all. If any anemone expert could clear this up that would be great. Thank you.

Hey Mike,

I'm not an expert, but I do own a BTA and I find that it changes it's appearance very often.

At night my anemone shrinks all up. When it comes out, when the lights turn on, it puffs up and looks normal again.

Sometimes it looks like it doesn't have bulbs at all and it looks like a LTA.

lol i asked the same thing... i have a RBTA that has no B

it really depends on the anemone i think...

I am no expert by any means but these questions are fairly simple.

There are GBTAs, RBTA and your noramal BTA I guess. This is usually how distinguished color morph wise.

Some grow quite large right?

Yes I have seen some up to 15 inches and even bigger. I know stevewest has a huge RBTA. Not sure how big though.

There are some BTAs that split rapidly once well established and are doing great in their system. These BTAs most likely came from their mother anemone that was in a tank and not in the wild.

This is not really known. Just one of those mysteries. There are plenty of theories and principles but none have been yet proven as a fact. Some theorize that when hungry their tentacles become elongagated and after gettting a meal they shrink and go back to bubble tips. But I have seen BTAs grab a meal and still maintain their long tentacles.

Hope all that helps. Maybe others can elaborate on what I said.

Those are the answers I could have rattled off but I guess Im looking for a bit more of a explanation, if one exists? Or more details? Maybe I just dont know what Im asking :)
