BTA Question

My BTA has changed in apprearance. The "belly" which was more or less concave is not now bloated. The BTA is also not feeding as before.

Is this the calm before the end?

They can change color/shape over time, or even throughout the day depending on light.
Not eating may be an issue, depending on how often you are trying to feed it, and what you feed.
Once or twice a week for spot feed shrimp or silverside is good, and maybe pick up mysis/brine when feeding fish.

The hosting clownfish is a real stinker. He will not tolerate me feeding the BTA. He will sometimes do it but seems to prefer "feeding" a Frogspawn that is nearby.

What are your water parameters nh? Generally, if an established anemone is not eating or otherwise behaving abnormally, it stems from some kind of problem with either chemistry, water flow, lighting, temp. or fellow inhabitants.

I was more successful with a feeding of frozen krill mainly because the clownfish couldn't pick it all off out fast enough. The little gal is a pill. If she doesn't do the feeding, she will attempt to pick every piece of food off of the BTA. By flooding the BTA with bunches of frozen krill I was able to get the BTA to feed.

The Clown seems to want to feed the nearby Frogspawn instead of the BTA. She spends most of her time in the BTA. Interesting behavior but she may be starving the BTA

I will give it a week and try to feed this way again. And see if there is any change in the BTA's appearance.

Sounds promising that it ate. The water parameters you mention are fine, I'm assuming the temp. and specific gravity are also in the desired range.
