BTA w/ Foot Long Base

I have a BTA that currently is attached to the bottom of the tank behind some LR crevice. However, the head has emerged from the crevice. Everything looks normal until you look behind the rocks...the base has extended more than a foot.

Anybody ever seen this?

I've seen it on a carpet, not a bulb/bubble tho.

I thought at first the foot may have been stuck on some LR, but after checking the rocks a little I don't think so. Still, I could not be 100% sure. After the lights went off it kinda "retracted" back into the crevice.

Can you get a pic of it when the lights are on?

Mine stretches so far that the foot looks like a thin thread. It seems like it would be easier to just move closer to the light, huh?

had a lta did the same thing i didnt think it could stretch that far wow took me awhile to get used to that lol

Yes...I have pictures. I'll try to post them tonight.

The stretching only happens for a few hours a day, then it retracts back. Yes, why doesn't it just move up?
