Still questioning the wisdom of this,
especially with 2 mp10's in the tank.....
and I've been the one to harp against it,
but you know they are so beautiful.

Yeah, pic is fuzzy. I need practice taking pics of moving targets.
Have some hopes this little one will host, but after a week, not even a glance.

I either need to find a second, or buy a pair.

I am not sure, when i bought him he was a white stripped maroon and then the white slowly started turning yellow.

That's how the gold strips do it, start out looking white stripped. And yes, they get huge (the females do, males not so much). Loved my last pair so much, even though she would bite me constantly. I believe the maroons associate exclusively with the BTA's so it's a much higher chance of getting a host that way. As for the other clowns, it's still a crapshoot, but I wanna say the BTA's are the most widely accept host for a clownfish, so better oddds with it than other anemone's. Maybe if you put a magfloat near it? clowns seem to like the magfloats lol.

Not sure how far you'll have the mp10s turned up, but I have 4 rbtas in my dispalay tank that love the high flow of my 3 modded mj1200's. I have only once got one of them caught up, but that was because the suction cups came loose and it dropped to the sandbed. It lost a couple tenticals but survived several hours of trying to be sucked up and made a full recovery.

Thanks guys! Wish I could fully get rid of the hair algae in my zoos, but my clowns and all the other fish have come to view it as a food source... kinda weird but I just leave it for them to snack on.

why, why, why

why, why, why

Why would I risk threat to my entire tank to put in an rbta?

8 days of wondering around the tank and today he found home!!!!!

home

home

Got home really late and dog tired.
Just wanted to check on the tanks and go to bed....

Water level ok, no water on the floor, skimmer pumping,

Head count,

rbta check
2 fire fish check
2 chromis check
1 scopas check
nooooo clown

and nem has lost much of bubble tips

Pop, from behind
and I wasn't tired any more

Dropped in a few flakes and he'd run all over the tank
pick out the biggest one and carry it flapping back home
then bury his nose in tentacles trying to feed the nem

I know most of you have seen this a million times,
but it's so cool to watch this relationship.

So my wife took a video on her iphone....
